But you need to look at this shit he was dealing with in his life at that time. It was definitely a very dark and raw album. In truth, my favorite album is actually Relapse, and album that HE himself disses in some of his own tracks. I have been listening to Em since before he went mainstream, and no one even knew he the hell he was and have listened to him evolve over the years as an artist. The only people who will truly appreciate this album are REAL EM fans who are able to sit down and listen to this album and realize that he is not a young kid anymore rapping about all of the anger and emotions he had bottled up and speaking about real world issues, and his love and passion for the rap hip hop scene. lol… I love that this album shows how he has come so far from where he began and is still able to write rhymes and spit out tracks that are “untouchable” haha. He cant just keep making albums about killing his wife and hating his mom and dissing pop bands. He has grown up, and matured as an artist and is talking about different life issues and things as he progresses as an artist. People judge it because its “not like old Eminem” Well HE isn’t old Eminem. Yes, this album is definitely not as dark or raw as his previous material.
